Is it just me, or do you also find it difficult to compare insurance policies? No matter what type of insurance comparison I am trying to do, I find it difficult to match what types of cover are offered by which different companies – and which ones are relevant to me.
The insurance comparison websites do make it easier, I agree, but there is still a long way to go before I am comfortable with my final decision. I am always terrified of finding myself underinsured in the future, so I often go with more expensive premiums even if I probably don't need that level of cover.
There is so much to get my head around – what excess is stipulated in the policy and how much excess do I really need? What values are covered in the policy and what are the values I really need? Each of the different policies are laid out in often complicated print and it is so difficult to compare like for like.
At least it is much easier now that many insurance companies give instant quotes on the internet but even this does not solve everything.
There will never be a standardised insurance policy and so I will just have to keep plodding on trying to make sense of what each one has to offer.
