People are happy to fork out hundreds or even thousands of pounds on their annual holiday or trip of a lifetime – and yet they happily miss out on buying travel insurance to save a few pounds which absolutely beggars belief - talk about a false economy!
Personally, I would not be able to enjoy a holiday if I did not have travel insurance and if you travel on a regular basis an annual policy can cost less than twenty or thirty pounds per trip – a small price to pay for real peace of mind.
Unfortunately, the likelihood of something happening to you on holiday or business is higher than at home. You are eating foreign food that your stomach is not used to and driving on roads that are unfamiliar. You might also be doing things outside of your comfort zone that you have never done before such as water skiing or hang gliding.
Accidents and illnesses do happen, whether minor or serious and it is crazy to take a risk by going on holiday without the proper cover. But people do, as they have an idealistic image of their holiday and cannot believe that anything will happen to them apart from the odd hangover.
But it is a fact of life that you can get ill on a holiday or you can have your wallet or camera stolen and a few pounds spent up front will save alot of money in the long run.
